Project Overview

Boulder, CO

The Koenig Alumni Center is comprised of buildings originally constructed in the late 1800s. In 1977, Peggy’s Porch was added to honor a former Alumni Association employee, Peggy Tague Earnest.

Peggy’s Porch needed to be remodeled to improve accessibility and to optimize the space for year-round special events.

KCI provided replacement of the existing deck. The new, larger deck accommodates public events including meetings, weddings, and fundraisers. The project included the addition of a three-season room, a fully-enclosed space that can be opened up with tri-fold doors to provide an open air meeting place. The deck features a pergola system that has operable louvers across the top to provide shade and shelter, and will have operable shades on the exterior sides to provide additional shade.
